Code Geass Theories confirmed!

Disclaimer: This theory was made before the international release and based on the trailer alone.

The new Code Geass trailer confirmed two very popular fan theories:
1) Lelouch is alive
2) He has both Code & Geass

Both these theories made rounds after a deleted shot from the original Japanese Anime ending made rounds in the fandom. Here's one such clip:

The second theory is often used to explain how he survived a stab from Suzaku the new Zero. As you probably know Code grants people immortality and the ability to grant Geass. Geass involves many types of psychic powers depending on the user's wish. Only a Geass user can kill a Code user.

So far Lelouch is the only confirmed wielder of both Code and Geass and it seems CC had a hand in making that happen. Going by trailer it seems that Lelouch did die but CC revived him granting him both powers.

How much power that grants Lelouch will be seen in the new movie Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection.

Comments

  1. That's the danger of trailers, no context.
The movie actually confirmed Lelouch does NOT have a code, that mark is just another newly invented power, and the movie goes out of its way to make clear it is NOT a code. Shamna has it too, and she gets geassed, which is impossible for code bearers. Lelouch takes safeguards against being geassed too. Lelouch even says he thinks he might drop dead any moment, so immortality from this new power is highly questionable. C.C. even explicitly dismisses the possibility of Lelouch having a code by stating "BUT he used geass afterwards". Despite the old myth, the anime was always very firm that that everyone who gets the code loses the geass. People who pretended otherwise have never been able to screenshot even the slightest hint of the contrary.

None of this comes as a surprise to anyone in the community as the whole debate has already been conclusively ended years ago when it was shown that 1) the anime completely contradicted code theory, 2) the show staff explicitly denied core points about code theory (e.g. codes do not need to be activated, Nunnally never saw code visions, etc), 3) the show staff have repeated for a decade that he's truly dead, officially confirming this many times. No code or immortality.
So of course, Lelouch was dead too in the movie AU. That's why it's called "Lelouch of the RESURRECTION", C.C. admits to being the one who literally RESURRECTED his corpse from the dead.
