Where To Watch Anime Legally On Youtube In India

Youtube has always been a source of pirated anime for weebs worldwide looking for alternatives to costly subscription plans. This is even truer in India where people tend to favour the cheaper alternative. Moreover, Indian otakus have few options to watch their favourite series especially after Animax shut down.

But that has changed with the emergence of channels that stream anime on Youtube legally in India for free. These channels are run by distributors looking for ways to increase their reach. This is a smart move because it gives viewers who are reluctant to pay for anime less reason to turn to pirated websites. So if you want to support anime creators and distributors without paying, here's where to watch anime legally on Youtube in India.

Muse Asia

Muse Asia is the most popular anime streaming channel in Asia run by the distributor, MUSE Communication. The channel's main target audience is actually in Southeast Asia but it also streams in the South Asian region. Some of its titles are not available in India but most are. Its collection includes old classics like Gakuen Babysitters and recent releases like Welcome To Demon School! Iruma-kun Season 3.

Ani-One

Ani-One also streams a great collection of animes on Youtube. The Media Link Group-owned channel runs fan-favourites like Konosuba and latest titles like To Your Eternity Season 2. Its main target is also in the Southeastern region so some titles are unavailable in India.

The channel recently started Ani-One Asia Ultra, where they stream popular in-demand anime series like Trigun Stampede and Bleach for a premium. But most of its content are available for free.

GundamInfo

Bandai Namco has been streaming anime on Youtube long before the above two. The company has posted many Gundam titles on its official channel named GundamInfo. It doesn't have all the Gundam series but many popular series from its extensive catalogue.

Gundam is one of the most well-known mecha or fighting robot franchises. It has several shows set in alternate universes, most of which focus on the futility of war and the need to reach out. If you're into war, space and mechs, then give this channel a try.

CARDIGHTVanguard

If you are a fan of the Cardfight!! Vanguard series, then you should subscribe to its official Youtube channel. It not only streams some series from the franchise but also some tips on the card game. Those of you who don't know about the Vanguard series might enjoy it if you are fond of Yu Gi Oh! Or maybe not.

Pokémon Asia Official (Hindi)

For those of you who grew up with the Hindi dub of popular anime series, you might want to give Pokémon Asia Official (Hindi) a try. The channel is currently streaming Pokémon Journeys: The Series, Pokémon Master Journeys and Pokémon the Series: XY.  Currently, the channel uploads dubs of Master Journeys and XY weekly, so you have something to look forward to when you subscribe.

AnimeLog

Taking inspiration from Muse Asia and Ani-One, a group of thirty anime producers and distributors decided to launch AnimeLog. Unfortunately, the channel's overseas collection is small and very old. You might not have even heard of most of them. Hopefully, the channel will update its list else it won't be able to keep up with the first two on the listicle.

D4DJ Global

D4DJ First Mix is an interesting project and might appeal to those into idol girls. The official channel includes anime, live performances and audio drama. I haven't watched it since idol girls aren't my thing so if you have, do share what you feel about it.

So far, Muse Asia and Ani-One are the best legal sources of anime on Youtube. Hopefully, more distributors will wisen up and follow their model to reach viewers in Asia (especially South Asia). I'll keep updating the list as more official anime Youtube channels emerge.
