Best Anime Senseis

This Teacher's Day let's honor the best Sensei of Anime. Spoilers exist.

#1 Koro-sensei from Assassination Classroom

A mysterious entity with speeds reaching Mach 20 and intention to destroy the world unless killed within the year, Koro-sensei also happens to be an ideal sensei. He understands the problems of each student and helps each one bring out their potential. Both of these tasks are the toughest for a teacher especially when Class E was made for students the school considered to have no future. Each of these students are now certified badass assassins. While teaching his students assassination Koro-sensei also gives them life lessons. I personally would love to have a sensei like this, except for the whole destroying the planet part and a few more.

#2  Master Roshi from Dragon Ball

He may be a disgusting old pervert at first glance but in martial arts there's a saying about first glances. Master Roshi was once a world champion and gave the world its mightiest warriors including Son Goku. Other than teaching his disciples his signature Kamehameha wave he taught them some life lessons the most important being that there will always be someone stronger than them giving his disciples the drive to break limits daily, especially Goku and Tien. People blame Goku's Saiyan genes but I think Roshi gave him the push in that direction. He also redefined Tien Shinhan's perspective turning him from a vicious brawler to an honorable warrior.

#3 Goomoongryong (Nine Arts Dragon) from Breaker

Han-chuwan alias Goomongryong taught Shiwoon a few badass moves and the true meaning of strength. He taught Shiwoon that being strong isn't about being able to beat ten guys in a move but being able to stand up to those much stronger than yourself. A lesson Shiwoon follows to the absolute extreme. He did make some harsh decisions regarding Shiwoon but it was to look out for him.

#4  Ame's Sensei from Wolf Children

Who needs schools when nature's your teacher, Ame's sensei is an example. Ame, a timid boy afraid of how people will perceive his wolf side learns to embrace his wolf side and even take some pride in it thanks to this fox. Yes, a fox. He teaches Ame various skills needed in the wild while showing him the beauty of nature.

#5 Iruka from Naruto

Despite initially being biased against Naruto he comes to understand and accept Naruto as a normal person and treats him like a brother running behind him to get him to pay attention in the class. Not just Naruto, he runs behind all the students who'd rather skip class and tries his best to teach. Iruka was there for Naruto when he learnt about the Kyuubi and Iruka's lessons actually did come in handy for Naruto when he was learning the Rasengan.

#6 Ur from Fairy Tail

Besides teaching Gray and Lyon how to strip she taught them ice make magic. Lyon really looked up to her to the point of wanting to surpass her. When Gray gets into deep trouble in his quest for revenge Ur bails him out by sealing Deliora at cost of her body turning to ice and later merging with the ocean. But even after this she continues looks out for them in a weird, creepy but heart-warming sort of way...

#7 Jiraiya from Naruto

Out of all the non-academy instructors Jiraiya seems to have taken most pupils, seven at least and five of them turned out quite well with two of them becoming Hokage and three from Ame founding Akatsuki which was initially a resistance group against a tyrant before turning into a new world order cult type gang. Minato, Nagato and Naruto all happen to be the most powerful of his students and most powerful shinobi and they all inherited Jiraiya's dream of a peaceful world. Plus he also taught Naruto Rasengan and how to tap into Kyuubi's power.

#8 Kenichi's Senseis from Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple

Some people need more than one to inspire them. Well Kenichi got his fair share. Besides giving Kenichi extremely intense training in various martial arts styles they teach in fact push him Kenichi to man up for himself against all odds and try his best and to keep trying no matter what.

#9 Maito Gai from Naruto

What do I say, Naruto just has too many sensei. Gai and Lee are both unable to use anything but Taijutsu and so Gai understands Lee's pain. This is why Gai supports Lee's dream of becoming a splendid ninja using only Taijutsu and Gai leads through example. Gai and Lee share a very strong and creepy bond(Insert rainbow and beach)., Neji and Tenten also learn from him the spirit to push limits and become a better ninja than before.

#10 Hiko Seijuro XIII from Rourini Kenshin (Samurai X)

Besides teaching Kenshin the most badass kenjutsu style ever Hiko Seijuro even taught the swordsman the lesson Keshin needed to overcome the bloodlust that threatened to overwhelm him and his pacifist ideals, the will to live. And Seijuro did it almost at the cost of his life as the last lesson was designed to kill the sensei and ensure the student is the sole practitioner of the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryu.

Honorable mentions: Hatake Kakashi(Naruto), Piccolo(DBZ), Master Genkai(Yu Yu Hakusho), Gaara(Naruto), Naruto(He taught Konohamaru, he counts)
